Luminous Occasions Event Planning Company Brightens Marion’s Community

By Wendy Weichenthal on June 24, 2024

In a radiant burst of entrepreneurial spirit, Harding graduate Kimberly Bryant has not only realized a lifelong dream but has also ignited a new passion of community engagement with the launch of her second business:  Luminous Occasions.

Kimberly is a fair-skinned woman with long, auburn, wavy hair, brown eyes and a slight smile. She owns Luminous Occasions event planning and Kitty Kat Candles.

“Starting my own business has been a dream of mine since high school,” Bryant shared. “Being my own boss also fits perfectly with my family’s needs, allowing me to support them while managing my health challenges.”

Bryant began her entrepreneurial journey in 2022 with Kitty Kat Candles, selling her products at local craft shows. She honed her skills at Marion Technical College through classes and hands-on experience interning in the marketing department. While an intern, her pivotal role in the 2023 Take Back the Night event showcased her passion for community impact and set the stage for her next venture.

“Those experiences at Marion Tech clarified my passion and pointed me in the right direction. I left MTC knowing exactly what I wanted to do,” Bryant explained.

A New Business is Born

Luminous Occasions was born at Marion’s inaugural Father’s Day Craft Show and Family Fun Day in June 2023, where Bryant not only showcased local craft vendors, but also raised funds for Homeless to Home Animal Rescue and Cat Sanctuary. Since then, Luminous Occasions has blossomed into a full-service design and marketing agency.

From digital marketing to event planning, Luminous Occasions is dedicated to elevating local businesses and celebrations alike. Luminous Occasions offers comprehensive services for businesses and individuals, including advertisement assistance, digital marketing, social media building, event planning, promotional ideas, market research, public relations, writing, proofreading, and graphic design of business cards, flyers, banners, and more.

“Whether you’re a business or planning a graduation party, birthday party, or any other event, my goal is to drive your success,” Bryant said. “Let Luminous Occasions be your partner in achieving unparalleled success.

Customer Reviews

Local businesses appreciate her affordable, quality services.

“Most of my clientele are local businesses needing designs for logos, business cards, and social media,” Bryant said.

“Kimberly is very talented, educated, and an all-around great lady to work with! She designed and organized the printing of my business cards,” said Lisa Parish, owner of Lisa’s Lemon Shakers and Fries.

“Luminous Occasions does amazing work! No detail is too great; professional and speedy service,” said Mike Smith, owner of Mike’s Mowing.

Business Owner Looks to Marion’s Bright Future

As Bryant looks to the future, her sights are set on expanding her impact within Marion, seeking new venues for year-round events and fostering partnerships with additional local nonprofits.

“I love working with local small businesses,” Bryant said. “There are many great things happening right now in Marion, and every business I help makes me feel like a part of that greatness. Downtown has become something beautiful, and I can’t wait for the day I can set up shop myself and be a part of that beauty.”

Next on the agenda for Luminous Occasions is the Second Annual Father’s Day Craft Show and Family Fun Day. On June 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Luminous Occasions will host this event at The Woods Park and Pavilion, once again raising money for Homeless to Home Animal Rescue. The day will feature a Father’s Day scavenger hunt, local craft vendors, a bounce house, face painting, music, and more. It promises to be a fun filled day that Marion families won’t want to miss.

“It’s exciting to see things come full circle with this next craft show,” Bryant said. “Luminous Occasions started with the first Father’s Day show, and now, a year later, we’re doing it again. Seeing all the progress that’s been made, all the connections with people and businesses in Marion created… all of it has been so wonderful. I’m eager to see where we’ll be next year.”

This event marks a wonderful way for Bryant to celebrate the start of another year on her entrepreneurial journey.
