Every town has people who quietly make a difference, and here in Marion, we’re lucky to have Brock and Amy Parker. Through their work with Luke 3:11 Ministries, they’ve turned simple, everyday needs—clean clothes and full bellies—into powerful acts of love that strengthen our community.

Lumpy Loads of Laundry

Clean clothes may seem small, but for many families in our area, it’s a real struggle. That’s why Luke 3:11’s Lumpy Loads of Laundry program is so special. With a recipe that costs just under a dollar a gallon, they make homemade laundry detergent and give it away to families in need.

But they don’t stop there. Brock and Amy, along with all of their great volunteers, host community laundromat days where neighbors can come and wash their clothes free of charge. They even pick up laundry for senior citizens who can’t make the trip themselves—returning it washed, dried, and folded. It’s not just about clothes—it’s about restoring dignity and showing care.

The Peanut Butter Jelly Truck

Hungry kids can’t thrive, and the Parkers refuse to let that happen on their watch. The Peanut Butter Jelly Truck makes regular stops to deliver meals to families with children. It’s not flashy—it’s peanut butter and jelly sandwiches—but it meets a need, fills a gap, and sends a message: you are not forgotten.

Luke 3:11 Ministries is run entirely on volunteer power and community generosity. Every gallon of detergent, every sandwich, every load of laundry comes from neighbors stepping up to help neighbors. Brock and Amy have built more than a ministry—they’ve built a movement rooted in love, service, and hope.

Why They’re Marion Strong

The Marion Strong Project exists to celebrate everyday people who make our town better. Brock and Amy Parker embody that spirit. They remind us that strength isn’t just about big headlines—it’s found in the everyday acts of service that lift people up.
