Corporate America Family Credit Union

By MarionMade! on August 12, 2019

Corporate America Family Credit Union (CAFCU) was one of the first credit unions to exist in Marion, and this is where their story began. Over 80 years ago, 15 Automatic Electric Company employees formed the credit union to take ownership of their finances. Formally known as GTE Employees Federal Credit Union, and headquartered here in Marion, their name has evolved over the years to Corporate America Family Credit Union (CAFCU) and is now a national credit union with 20 branches and over 70,000 members.

The staff at CAFCU’s Marion branch, all from the Marion area, are dedicated to helping their community. Each year they lead a program called Project Backpack, which is a school supply drive that helps local parents, students, and teachers in need prepare for the school year. When it comes to supporting the community of Marion, the staff also volunteer for the community firefighting program and sponsor many Marion Chamber of Commerce events, amongst other Marion community initiatives. Recently, they volunteered with The Wall That Heals — a traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial exhibit — where Marion staff had the privilege of getting to know and helping many honored veterans.

Along with the branch’s community involvement, they are passionate about empowering members in the community achieve financial success and reduce on-the-job stress so they can focus on work rather than on financial struggles. CAFCU is a not-for-profit, member-owned collective that genuinely cares about their community’s financial wellness and success.

CAFCU is proud to be part of the Marion community and to be MarionMade!
