Explore-It-Torium

By MarionMade! on October 5, 2017

Explore + Laboratory + Museum = EXPLORE-IT-TORIUM.

Just think! A place for children to explore, play and experiment in an environment created purely for them. A place that will pay tribute to Marion’s past, while giving children a bright vision of their future. We’ll make learning fun again. No standardized tests here, just kids being kids, pretending to be farmers, mechanics, artists, chefs, or engineers. The list is endless because it all depends on a child’s imagination. Many of the hands-on exhibits will be sponsored by area businesses and individuals. Community rooms will provide meeting and birthday party opportunities. Special programming will take place during peak hours to make the museum experience even more exciting for guests. There will be evening and weekend programming for all ages. Classes will be interest-driven by community recommendation.

It is the goal of the Explore-It-Torium to draw families from Marion and the surrounding counties into Downtown. Children’s museums tend to be destinations for many families looking to spend time together away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With the support of the Marion community, the Explore-It-Torium can be the draw to help these families have a full day’s adventure–from museums to shopping and dining.

The Explore-It-torium is the dream of Cindy Binns and her team of educators and business-minded people to bring a fun, educational, family experience to downtown Marion. The team consists of Cindy, two of her four children, Lauren & Alan Creasap, Becky Diamond, Amanda Johnson and Shary Williamson. Together they have over 65 years of experience in education, 50 years in business, and 85 years of parenting. The team will continue to grow along with the museum bringing great adventures to the Marion Made! community.
